Watch out for text and delivery scams
Fraudsters increase scams this time of year through texts and phone calls. They try to get you to click on links, call back numbers, or give your personal or banking information. Make sure to not fall for it. Delivery companies will not contact you directly to confirm information or to receive payment. If you respond you may infect your phone or compromise your banking information.
Action Steps:
- PAUSE before clicking or responding to unknown text or phone call seeking information, and PAUSE before clicking on any link or entering a code
- Always VERIFY by going to the official website and login to your account to track deliveries or contact the listed customer service number or chat.
- Tell your family and friends to watch out for these scams.
