Watch out for risky chatbot sites
Everything entered into an AI-powered chatbot search bar or website can become publicly available. Examples of chatbots which can make information public include ChatGPT, Bing Chat, Google Bard, LLaMA and DALL-E2.
Additionally, many chatbot websites and browser add-ons are fake and may create security risks for user devices. Fraudsters and hackers collect user information to send the users malicious emails and texts in an attempt to steal bank account information or lock them out of their own accounts.
Action Steps
PAUSE before using any chatbot sites like ChatGPT, Bard, etc. Personally identifiable information or work data should never be inputted into these tools, which may compromise personal accounts and work networks. VERIFY that any sites used are legitimate.
