New COVID-19 scams
Protect yourself from COVID-19 fraudsters using telemarketing calls, text messages, and social media platforms to collect personal and medical information. This can result in to medical, identity, and financial fraud.
- Purchase only FDA-approved at-home COVID-19 tests.
- Use only official government sites for federally-supplied at-home kits. https://special.usps.com/testkits
- Use only official sites to schedule tests and vaccines. See: https://www.mass.gov/covid-19-testing and https://www.mass.gov/covid-19-vaccine.
- Do not follow hyperlinks, text messages, or attachments about COVID-19 from unknown sources, which can malicious.
- Do not post COVID-19 vaccination cards on social media since these contain personally identifiable information.
