Making a list and checking it twice
It is a great time to reset your passwords. Updating your passwords across your devices and accounts is one of the best things you can do to protect your accounts. Over the holidays and the beginning of the new year make a password update plan to slowly update your passwords, and check it twice.
ACTION STEPS:
- Make a list of your devices, accounts, and applications. Go through each one and update passwords. Make sure to use long and strong passwords (12-16 characters including numbers and letters). Do not use any personal or known information as part of the password.
- Add or confirm multi-factor authentication (MFA) on all devices and accounts.
- If you or your family get new devices or accounts over the holiday, set up long and strong passwords and MFA.
