Don’t let QR code Quishing harvest your credentials

cybersecurity tip of the week

Another day, another cyber threat term. This time it’s Quishing, which is when fraudsters use a QR code that seems legitimate but contains malware or links to malicious websites to harvest your login credentials. Sometimes the malware can get around multi-factor authentication and get directly into your devices and networks. Watch out for QR codes that may have Quishing risks!

Action Step: As efficient and nifty as QR codes can be to open a site or a menu at your favorite restaurant, PAUSE and go to the official website instead. Try not to use QR codes to open websites or documents.
