Cyber Advisory “Shields Up” issued by Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation
CISA and the FBI have released a joint Cybersecurity Advisory regarding destructive malware targeting organizations in Ukraine. While the threats are currently in Ukraine, it is likely that these threats may spread globally. Please see CISA’s Shields Up Technical Guidance page for details about this threat.
Immediate actions to take:
- Patch vulnerabilities.
- Use Multi-Factor Authorization wherever available.
- Run antivirus scans often.
- Enable strong spam filters to prevent phishing emails from reaching end users.
- Disable ports and protocols that are not essential.
- Strengthen controls for cloud services.
- Remind employees to NOT open links or attachments in emails or texts without validation.
