Comptroller Andrew W. Maylor Files Fiscal Year 2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR)
Today, Comptroller of the Commonwealth Andrew W. Maylor filed the Commonwealth’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for Fiscal Year 2019, the period that ended June 30, 2019.
Office of the Comptroller staff prepared the CAFR in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the United States of America. The objective of the report is to provide a clear financial picture of the government of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a single, unified entity.
The report can be found online at http://www.macomptroller.org/wp-content/uploads/acfr_fy-2019.pdf
The CAFR incorporates activity from over 150 departments, including the various agencies, boards, and commissions, the 25 institutions of higher education, the judicial and legislative branches of government, and constitutional offices, as well as 41 separate, independent public authorities.
Additionally, the CAFR includes an auditors’ report prepared by the Commonwealth’s independent auditors, KPMG, LLP.
“I would like to express my sincere thanks to the dedicated employees of the Office of the Comptroller, whose tireless efforts serve the citizens of the Commonwealth well on a daily basis,” said Comptroller Maylor. “I am proud to have them all on this team as we establish a model for good governance nationwide.”
The Comptroller, through the FY2019 CAFR, is pleased to highlight the important work that the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education is doing to promote Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) through its Nexus STEM Regional Networks. Promoting and supporting Women in STEM is critical to bridging the gender and pay gaps for women and improving the quality and scope of STEM opportunities in Massachusetts.
