Be Cautious of Increasing Bank Scams
Several major banks are notifying customers of an increase in fraudulent text messages and calls stating that they are calling from the bank’s Fraud Department. These scams typically feature texts and calls, telling customers to log in to online banking, change passwords, and provide security codes. These types of calls often repeat, and the callers are persistent and convincing. Banks will never call or text asking you to provide personal or account information.
ACTION STEPS:
- If you are concerned about your account, log in to online banking to validate activity. Change your password regularly.
- Always contact your bank at the number posted on their official bank website.
