Watch What You Share on Social Media Over the Holidays
Sharing where you are spending your holidays, your favorite places and foods, and photos and videos seems routine during the holiday season. Be careful because cyber criminals may be lurking. Fraudsters can scour your social media to gather information about you that they can then use to trick you or others to gain access to your personal and work accounts.
Action Steps:
1. Pause before clicking on any links or giving out your credit card, banking, or other personal information over the phone or online.
2. Verify that you are dealing with a legitimate site and not being misdirected to an imposter site. Make sure your seller is legitimate or you may be a scam victim.
