Act now to protect against cyber attacks part two
The White House has issued a Fact Sheet that outlines several ways to protect your organization against cyber attacks:
- Encrypt your data so it cannot be used if it is stolen.
- Ensure that you have offline backups of your data that are isolated from network connections.
- Test backup procedures to ensure that critical data can be rapidly restored if the organization is impacted by ransomware or other cyber attack.
- If the organization is using cloud services, ensure that IT personnel have reviewed and implemented strong controls outlined in the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency’s guidance.
See our CTR Cyber page for cybersecurity internal controls including our guidance from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency on ransomware preparedness.
