Former Comptroller William Kilmartin Named to NASCAT Hall of Fame
This week, the National Association of State Auditors, Comptrollers, and Treasurers(NASACT) named former Comptroller of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Kilmartin to the NASACT Hall of Fame.
Kilmartin served as Comptroller from 1989 to 1999. NASACT commended his achievements during this tenure, notably his design and implementation of a comprehensive data warehouse, and his sponsorship and leadership to increase the use of electronic funds transfer (EFT), and establishment of the electronic benefits transfer (EBT) network.
“Congratulations to former Comptroller Kilmartin on this prestigious award,” said William McNamara, the current Comptroller. “His peers from across the country and his former colleagues here in Massachusetts recognize his leadership, his record of innovation, and his willingness to mentor financial professionals as part of twenty-five years of service to the state. “
Induction into the NASACT Hall of Fame is the association’s highest honor. The award was announced at the NASACT Annual Conference.
About the NASACT Hall of Fame
The NASACT Hall of Fame was created in 2015 to recognize an elite group of individuals who over their professional careers have made major and enduring impacts on state government financial management. Hall of Fame inductees are not selected based upon a single achievement, but rather to recognize careers filled with significant achievements and contributions and to recognize those who have reached the highest levels of performance in the profession.
