Phishing Attacks Up To More Than 1,000%

The text "Cybersecurity Tip of the Week"

Most successful phishing attacks succeed when only eight percent of users click on malicious links, pictures, or documents, so it is critical to verify each email that contains links or files before you click on them. Do not hesitate to call the sender using contact information already on file to confirm that they sent the email, and ensure that the antivirus program on your computer is running. You may also request your IT staff to scan your emails prior to opening.

Be especially cautious of emails that seek immediate action such as updating login credentials to avoid shutdown of your account, as this is a routine technique to trick you into clicking quickly.

In addition to your normal incident response protocols, please contact [email protected] with any incidents or suspected incidents of fraud or cyber-attacks or if you need assistance with internal controls.
